Machulo Treks & T ours Pakistan is a local trekking and adventure company based in Machulo
V alley , Baltistan. We were born and raised in the Karakoram Mountains, and trekking is part of
our daily life. With more than 24 years of experience, our team has guided trekkers and
mountaineers from all over the world on the famous Baltoro Glacier and K2 Base Camp route.
Most of our guides, porters, and staff come from Machulo and nearby villages. Many of them
have worked on major expeditions to K2, Broad Peak, Nanga Parbat, and Gasherbrum peaks.
Trekking with us means traveling with people who truly know this land, its weather , culture, and
mountains. We focus on safety , local knowledge, simple comfort, and honest service, while
also supporting local communities through responsible tourism.

Trek Overview

The K2 Base Camp T rek is one of the world’s most famous and rewarding high-altitude treks. The route follows the mighty Baltoro Glacier deep into the heart of the Karakoram Range, surrounded by some of the highest and most dramatic mountains on Earth, including K2 (8,61 1m), Broad Peak, and the Gasherbrum group. Reaching Concordia, often called the “Throne Room of the Mountain Gods,” and standing in front of K2 Base Camp is a dream for many trekkers. This journey offers raw mountain beauty,
strong adventure, and warm Balti hospitality .

Included and Excluded

  • All ground transportation during the trip (private cars and jeeps)
  • Domestic flights between Islamabad and Skardu (subject to weather conditions)
  • All accommodation during the tour: hotels, guesthouses, and camping tents
  • All meals during the trek: breakfast, lunch, and dinner
  • Trekking permits for Baltoro Glacier and Central Karakoram National Park (CKNP)
  • A professional, licensed trekking guide
  • Full trekking staff including porters, cook, and support crew
  • Complete camping equipment: sleeping tents, sleeping bags, kitchen equipment, etc.
  • Separate tents for dining, kitchen (mess tent), and toilet

Recommended Packing List

  • Comfortable trekking boots and several pairs of trekking socks
  • Warm clothing: down jacket, thermal base layers, and a windproof jacket
  • Gloves, warm hat, and sun cap
  • Sunglasses with UV protection
  • Trekking poles (recommended)
  • 4-season sleeping bag suitable for cold temperatures
  • Water bottles and water purification tablets
  • Small daypack for daily use and a large duffel bag (60L or more) for porters
  • Headlamp or torch with extra batteries
  • Personal medicines and basic toiletries
  • Sunscreen and lip balm (UV protection)
  • Passport and photocopies of passport and ID

Itinerary

Arrive at Islamabad International Airport. Our staff will receive you and transfer you to the hotel.After some rest, And also a short tour of Islamabbad and Rawalpindi city .Overnight: Grand Hotel in Islamabad

After an early breakfast in Islamabad, we start our journey towards Chilas by road. The drivefollows the scenic Karakoram Highway, passing through beautiful valleys, rivers, and mountain landscapes.This is a long but very scenic journey , taking approximately 10–1 1 hours, including short stops for meals, rest, and photography . Upon arrival in Chilas, we check into our hotel. Dinner and overnight stay in Chilas. Overnight: Hotel in ChilasDrive time: 10–1 1 hours

After breakfast, we continue our journey towards Skardu. The road takes us along the IndusRiver and through dramatic mountain scenery .We will stop at beautiful viewpoints along the way , including the junction point of three greatmountain ranges: the Himalayas, Karakoram, and Hindu Kush (weather and road conditionspermitting).The drive takes around 7–8 hours. Upon arrival in Skardu, we transfer to the hotel for rest andrelaxation.Overnight: Hotel in Skardu (Concordia Hotel)Drive time: 7–8 hours

This day is for rest, acclimatization, and final trek preparation. We complete permits and checkequipment. Optional sightseeing includes walk in Skardu Market, Buddha Rock, and SadparaLake.Overnight: Hotel in Skardu (Concordia Hotel)

We travel by jeep through the beautiful Braldu Valley to Askole, the last village before the trekstarts. Here we meet our porters and trekking staff.Drive Time: 6–8 hoursOvernight: Camp in Askole

Our first trekking day begins along the Braldu River . The trail includes rocky paths andsuspension bridges. This day helps us adjust to trekking pace.T rekking Time: 6–7 hoursOvernight: Camp at Jhula

We continue walking beside the river with views of towering mountains. Paiju is a greencampsite and the gateway to the Baltoro Glacier .T rekking Time: 6–7 hoursOvernight: Camp at Paiju

A rest day to help the body adjust to altitude. Short walks, relaxation, and hydration. Our teamprepares equipment for glacier trekking.Overnight: Camp at Paiju

Today we step onto the Baltoro Glacier. The landscape changes to ice, rocks, and hugemountain walls. Amazing views throughout the day .Trekking Time: 6–7 hoursOvernight: Camp at Khobartse

A shorter but scenic trek. Urdokas is one of the most beautiful campsites on the route, locatedabove the glacier with views of famous peaks like Gasherbrum IV and Lobsang Spire.T rekking Time: 4–5 hoursOvernight: Camp at Urdokas

A full glacier walk with wide open views. We see Masherbrum, Muztag T ower, and endless iceformations.T rekking Time: 6–7 hoursOvernight: Camp at Goru II

One of the most special days of the trek. We arrive at Concordia, surrounded by K2, BroadPeak, and Gasherbrum I & II.T rekking Time: 5–6 hoursOvernight: Camp at Concordia

Early morning start for K2 Base Camp. We pass Broad Peak Base Camp and reach K2 BaseCamp. Visit the Gilkey Memorial, then return to Concordia.T rekking Time: 10–12 hoursOvernight: Camp at Concordia

We start our return journey , walking back along the Baltoro Glacier with familiar views.Trekking Time: 5–6 hoursOvernight: Camp at Goru I

Descending further , the walk becomes easier as altitude decreases.Overnight: Camp at Khobartse

We leave the glacier and return to the green campsite of Paiju.Overnight: Camp at Paiju

Retrace our steps along the river with final views of the Karakoram giants.Overnight: Camp at Jhula

Final trekking day back to Askole village.Overnight: Camp or Guesthouse

Jeep drive back to Skardu. Rest, hot shower , and celebration dinner .Overnight: Hotel in Skardu

Return to Islamabad by road. End of our services.
