K-6/K-7 Base Camp Trek Itinerary

Early in the morning, fly skardu, it’s a one-hour flight to Skardu, flying over the mighty mountains of the Karakoram & Himalaya. If the flight is canceled due to weather, we will take the scenic Karakoram Highway instead. This is a long but beautiful journey, with an overnight stay in Chilas before continuing to Skardu the next day.

After checking into a comfortable hotel in Skardu, we will spend the day exploring. Visit Sakrdu Bazar, Polo Ground  and  enjoy the peaceful surroundings of Sadpara Lake before heading back to the hotel.

Before starting the trek, all foreign travelers must attend a briefing by Pakistan’s tourism authorities. During this time, we will also check all our gear, make last-minute purchases, and get ready for the adventure ahead.

Now, the real journey begins! We will drive in jeeps along the Indus and Shyok Rivers, passing through small villages and spectacular mountain landscapes. As we reach Hushe, the last village before our trek starts, we will check into a guesthouse and rest for the night.

Our trekking adventure starts today! We leave Hushe and walk through green meadows and rocky paths toward Saicho. This will be our first campsite, next to a beautiful river. Our team of porters and guides will take care of everything, allowing you to enjoy the trek.

Today, we continue our journey into the wild. We will cross the Charakusa Glacier, surrounded by incredible high-altitude scenery. The trek is a bit challenging but offers amazing views of snow-capped peaks. By afternoon, we will reach Spangsar, where we will set up camp and relax.

This is the most exciting day of the trek! We will walk over the glacier as we make our way to K-6/K-7 Base Camp. The views keep getting better as we see the massive peaks of K-6 (7,282m) and K-7 (6,934m) right in front of us. The impressive Naiza Peak also comes into view. By the end of the day, we will be in the heart of the Karakoram Mountains, surrounded by breathtaking scenery.

We will spend two full days at base camp, taking in the beauty of the mountains. You can explore the nearby ridges, take photos, or just relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. For those who want more adventure, we can arrange short hikes.

During these days, participants will have the opportunity to engage in climbing activities, including acclimatization hikes and attempts on smaller peaks surrounding the base camp. This period allows climbers to adjust to high altitudes while exploring nearby summits and honing their mountaineering skills. Weather conditions and team fitness will determine the exact climbing schedule, with flexibility for multiple summit attempts. These days are dedicated to the true adventure of high-altitude mountaineering, offering breathtaking views and a rewarding climbing experience.

Entering one of the most scenic valleys of the Karakoram.

This region is famous for its rock spires and stunning landscapes. We will trek through lush green meadows, camp near crystal-clear streams, and enjoy the breathtaking views of towering rock formations like Amin Brakk (5,850m), also known as the "Great Tower." For climbing enthusiasts, there will be opportunities for short ascents and rock-climbing activities.

After spending several days in Nangma Valley, we will trek back to Kandy and drive to Skardu for a well-deserved rest.

Depending on weather conditions, we will either take a scenic flight from Skardu to Islamabad or drive via the Karakoram Highway or Babusar Pass. If flying, transfer to the hotel in Islamabad upon arrival. If driving, we will travel to Chilas or Naran for an overnight stay, enjoying breathtaking mountain landscapes along the way.

If traveling by road, we will continue our journey from Chilas/Naran to Islamabad, enjoying the scenic landscapes along the way. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel for rest. For those already in Islamabad, this will be a free day to relax or explore the city before departure.
