Machulo La (K2 Viewpoint) and Nangma V alley Trek

Drive Time: ~4 hoursMax Altitude: 2,478 m (8,130 ft)After breakfast, we depart Skardu and drive toward Machulo V alley via Khaplu, following the scenic Shyok River . En route, we stop at the spectacular junction of the Indus and Shyok Rivers for photographs. Passing traditional villages and dramatic mountain landscapes, we arrive in Machulo and check in at Felix Guesthouse. The evening is free to explore the village and enjoy stunning views of the Haldi Cones and Masherbrum Peak. Overnight: Felix Guesthouse, Machulo

Max Altitude: Kanday 2,900 m / Mingulo Broq 3,400 m After breakfast, we take a short drive (around 40 minutes) to Kanday Village, the starting point of our trek. T oday’s trek is short but varied, with a mix of flat sections and some steep climbs.We first descend to cross the Hushe River via a beautiful wooden bridge. After crossing, the trailclimbs steadily into a narrow and scenic valley .After approximately four hours of trekking, including crossing two suspension bridges over small streams, we reach Mingulo Broq. This lush green campsite lies beside flowing water and pine trees and is used as a summer pasture by local shepherds. After lunch, the rest of the day is free to relax, explore the meadows, or enjoy the peaceful surroundings.Overnight: Camping at Mingulo Broq

Max Altitude: 3,950 m (12,960 ft)After breakfast, we continue our trek toward Nangma V alley . The trail passes through beautifulgreen fields and runs alongside a glacial stream, offering calm and scenic views throughout thewalk. T oday’s route is mostly gentle with minor ups and downs. We cross a wooden bridge anda small stream before reaching Nangma V alley .Upon arrival at the campsite, a fresh and hot lunch is served. The afternoon is free for rest and exploration. Nangma V alley offers breathtaking views, with the North Ridge of Shingu Charpa on one side and the massive granite wall of Amin Brakk on the other . The valley is also famous for its rich alpine flora, making it a paradise for nature lovers and photographers.Overnight: Camping in Nangma V alley

After breakfast, we begin our return trek from Nangma V alley back to Kanday Village. The route follows the same scenic trail, passing green meadows, narrow valleys, and flowing streams. The trek is mostly downhill, making it easier and relaxed. After 3–4 hours of walking, we reachKanday Village where our vehicles await.From Kanday , we drive back to Machulo Village. Upon arrival, we check in at the guesthouse. The rest of the day is free to rest, explore the village, or interact with the local Balti community .Overnight: Felix Guesthouse, Machulo

This day is reserved for rest and acclimatization, which is essential before moving to higheraltitudes. Depending on weather and group interest, optional visits can be arranged to HusheVillage or the famous Thagus Death Track. The day also allows time for final preparations forthe Machulo La trek.Overnight: Camping / Guesthouse

Approx. Altitude: 4,300 mT oday we begin the Machulo La trek. The trail gradually climbs through high-altitude terrain,offering wide and dramatic views of surrounding Karakoram peaks. After a steady ascent, we reach Camp 1 at Qoli Brangsa. This remote campsite provides a true wilderness experience.Overnight: Camping at Qoli Brangsa

Approx. Altitude: 4,700–4,800 mAn early start takes us toward the K2 Viewpoint. From this spectacular vantage point, we enjoybreathtaking views of K2 and nearby Karakoram giants. After spending time at the viewpoint, wecarefully descend and continue back to Machulo Village. This is a long but highly rewarding day.Overnight: Guesthouse / Camping in Machulo

After breakfast, we drive back to Skardu. Along the way , we stop at the historic Khaplu Fort andvisit the ancient Chaqchan Mosque, one of the oldest mosques in the region. After sightseeing,we continue to Skardu and check in at the hotel.Overnight: Hotel in Skardu

T oday is dedicated to exploring Skardu and its surroundings. Possible visits include ShangrilaResort, Upper Kachura Lake, the Cold Desert (Sarfaranga), and scenic viewpoints along theIndus River . This relaxed day allows you to enjoy the culture and landscapes of Baltistan. Overnight: Hotel in Skardu

After breakfast, transfer to Skardu Airport for your flight back to Islamabad. This marks the end of an unforgettable adventure with Machulo Treks & Tours Pakistan through the heart of the Karakoram Mountains.
